Globally, human trafficking impacts over 27.6 million people, with children making up around one in three victims, according to recent reports from the International Labour Organization (ILO) and UNICEF. Within these harrowing statistics, sex trafficking specifically targets an estimated 4.8 million people, the majority of whom are women and children, forced into exploitation every year. Disturbingly, children are disproportionately vulnerable to sex trafficking, especially in impoverished regions and areas with limited protection and support systems, as noted by the UNODC.

In areas where trafficking networks are deeply entrenched, like Southeast Asia, this crisis devastates young lives and entire communities. This is why the work of The Soul Freedom Movement is so critical. We’re committed to creating safe havens where children rescued from trafficking can access essential resources for healing, education, and reintegration. Each safe haven offers not only shelter but also the comprehensive, trauma-informed support that these children need to reclaim their futures and break the cycle of exploitation.
